"California is closer than ever to getting an earthquake early warning system that could give residents up to a minute warning that a temblor is on its way.
The state Senate unanimously approved the bill to fully create the $80-million California Integrated Seismic Network. The legislation is on its way to the Assembly.
A similar system is credited with saving countless lives ahead of Japan’s 9.0-magnitude quake in 2011.”
